MOST UNIQUE WHITEWATER RAFT
ADVENTURE IN THE U.S.!
Arizona's Salt River is the only commercially run class III & IV whitewater raft trip in the Sonoran Desert of the United States. Saguaros, sun, scenery and splashes are guaranteed with every trip!
Located just 2 1/2 hours from Phoenix and 3 hours from Tucson in the Tonto National Forest and on the White Mountain Apache Tribe's ancestral lands lies Arizona's "other Grand Canyon."
Our most popular adventure is the full day raft trip with a delicious beachside grilled lunch and major class III rapids such as Baptism, Kiss n Tell, Exhibition and Mescal Falls.
The two day trip takes you past the rivers namesake, the Salt Banks, and into the beautiful white granite gorge with more rapids such as Rat Trap and and the Ledges. Three to five day wilderness trips venture into distinctively different gorges within the canyon, and the challenges of class IV rapids such as Eye of the Needle, Pinball and Quartzite Falls. See our photo pages of these trips.
Support our sister company Independent Whitewater on Colorado's Arkansas River just two hours from Denver May - August.
All or part of our operation is conducted on public lands under special permit from the White Mountain Apache Tribe and the Tonto National Forest.
Mike and Staff of Salt River Rafting,
We booked a one day trip with you guys on March 25 for a party of four on the upper Salt. We just wanted to let you know what an amazing day we had on the river, our guide for the day was Tess. Tess was the perfect guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and went out of her way to make our rafting trip a memorable one. Please forward this to Tess and let her know that we appreciate her hard work and that we hope to see her soon on our next trip.
Thanks again for the experience!
